About the Artist
Martin Beauford is a retired engineer with many years of experience working with wood. Woodturning has become his passion. He produces a wide range of turned items including bowls, vases, pens and other art objects. His turnings combine engineering precision and the natural beauty of wood in form, color, pattern, and texture with superb execution and finish.
Martin is a member of the American Association of Woodturners and the Dallas Area Woodturners.
Martin enjoys the challenge of designing with natural surfaces and shapes that express the potential of each piece of wood. He believes that his work should be an expression of the nature and beauty of the wood. He gets inspiration from nature, pottery, and both modern and classical art.
