About the Artist
Debbie Odom with her daughter, Linsey.
As a child my father nurtured and encouraged my artistic and creative abilities. As a self taught pastel artist and passionate photographer, he was my biggest inspiration.
Artistic Creation is the activity that brings me the most peace, as well as being the one thing in my life which frees me from the tick of the clock and it's demands.
As a young adult I was fascinated by all types of art and pursued a lengthy career in custom picture framing. I enjoyed all facets of the work; design, labor, and being surrounded by the art itself.
Later in life, as a wife and mother, my painting was set aside for obvious reason. Recently, in the last four years, several trips amidst nature, along with my artistically gifted daughter, rekindled the fires of my art spirit. All of nature has become my greatest influence.
Even though my paintings may not endure more than a generation or two, the spirit which inspires my work remains eternal.
